Amongst overgrown hills and rural landscapes of cosy town on Coromandel Peninsula, a celebration of love was set to happen. Whangamata Farm Weddings – a perfect venue with beautiful backdrops and hands down hospitality from its owners. With help from the dearest and closest, this day was as special as it only could be.
My brief from the main couple was “To capture fun, emotional moments and the vibe of the day.” With a humble “We trust you!!! Do what you think is best :-)”
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you the deeply-madly in love Maia and Mike.
The ceremony and reception were held at Whangamata Farm Weddings – a beautiful wedding venue surrounded by all the beauty that Coromandel has on offer. Run by a lovely couple Sandie and Andy who put their heart into every celebration. If you are after a relaxed atmosphere where everyone just having a great time, where if it rains you might be dropped to the ceremony by a tractor, this is the place to be! Down to Earth and amazing!
We didn’t travel anywhere for the photographs. Although we had a plan to sneak out later in the evening and head to Whangamata Beach for some sunset magic. Closer to the time it was obvious that spending time with people Mike & Maia loved the most was more important. The beauty of Whangamata Farm Weddings is that you you don’t need to go anywhere for photos!
Marquee reception is always a win for a few reasons. First of all, it is any-kind-of-the-weather perfect plan! Also, it gives such a perfect countryside or rural vibe to the whole setting. With free flow seating it was ideal for after the ceremony drinks and reception.
And of course, the dance floor under the stars! Did you know that if you are away from a big city in the middle of a coastal inland, the sky will not disappoint! There were so many great moments and joyful emotions coming from everyone giving dancing a go.
