Getting Ready for the Big Day
The day began with Howerd and his groomsmen preparing at his family home, while Shay spent a beautiful morning at Honeysuckle Cottage, a sweet little hideaway surrounded by native bush. The cottage created the most intimate and romantic atmosphere – the perfect setting to begin her wedding day with her bridesmaids and Mum.
A First Look at Abel Estate
Before guests arrived, Shay & Howerd shared a private first look at Abel Estate. This was such a heartfelt moment, giving us the chance to capture not only their connection but also the stunning venue set-up, untouched and ready for the celebration. They exchanged vows privately – a moment that remained just between the two of them.
Ceremony
The ceremony, led by the fantastic celebrant Grayson Javins, was simply beautiful. With family and friends gathered, Shay & Howerd said their “I dos” surrounded by the elegance of Abel Estate’s gardens. Afterward, we worked through their list of group photos, enjoyed some fun bridal party shots, and captured romantic portraits of the newlyweds around the venue.
Speeches, Dinner, and Dancing
One of the unique touches of this wedding was moving speeches to the courtyard during cocktail hour. It created such a relaxed, intimate atmosphere where everyone could focus on the words being shared while enjoying a drink. Afterward, guests were invited to a delicious dinner inside before the newlyweds kicked off the evening with their first dance.
As the dance floor came alive, we slipped away for some creative night photos at Abel Estate. These portraits were the perfect way to end a magical day, filled with joy, laughter, and love.
